Introductions:

Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division and the ability of these cells to invade other tissues, either by direct growth into adjacent tissue (invasion) or by migration of cells to distant sites (metastasis) and have high potential to cause a death  . The risk of this disease is relate to what group of ages somebody was . So , it is important to know when we will be in highly risk and take the drastic action such as medical check up .

Study Objectives:

The study is to determine which age group that mostly affected by cancers according their age .

 Methods:

Data are registered cases from 1st January 2004 until 31st December 2004 in Hospital ***** . It is taken regardless of races, religion and types of cancer.  It is vary by age. All patients are Malaysian.

 Results:

There are 38 cancer cases registered from 1st January 2004 until 31st December 2004. Age range 45 to 54 years old has the highest cancer cases registered. Age of 45 years old is the mode. Age range from 15 to 24 years old is the lowest range of cancers cases registered during the period.

The histogram has negative skewness. It shows that the registered cancer cases increase by age 35 but after range 55 to 64, the number of cancer cases is decreasing.

The histogram also has a high Standard deviation. Most of the patients are age around 45 years old while 46 years old is the mean.

Conclusion :

From the observation , cancer is affected all group of ages . But generally , when a person become older , he also get the higher chance to be affected . It shows from the analysis that number of cancer increased when the age increased ( negative skewness ) and 45 years old has the most number of people had cancer ( mode ) .

Age ranges from 45 to 54 years old are the most vulnerable to cancer due to it have the highest number of cancer cases than range. In other age this study, we found that by age group of  55 to 64 and 65 to 74, the number of registered cancer cases were decreasing. This may due to the awareness of cancer, good precaution avoiding cancer and better life quality.

Ages below than 15 years old are invulnerable to cancer it is because there is no case were registered during the study period.
